A 'plaza parking lot' combining park and parking functions will be created in the temporary parking lot in front of Sejong City Hall.
Sejong City announced on the 9th that it will construct a park on the ground and a two-level underground parking lot (256 parking spaces) beneath the temporary parking lot site, with a total project cost of 16.748 billion KRW.
The plaza parking lot is scheduled to be completed by May next year.
Sejong City plans to encourage main office employees to use public transportation, commuter buses, and shared vehicles for business trips, anticipating parking difficulties around the city hall during the construction period.
In addition, to alleviate parking inconvenience for visitors to the city hall, 100 out of 431 parking spaces in the attached parking lot will be designated and operated as visitor-only parking zones.
A Sejong City official said, "Since parking difficulties are expected during the construction period, we ask visitors to the city hall to use public transportation."
