Jung Yeon-gi, Executive Vice President of the Small and Medium Business Group at Woori Bank, has been appointed as the next CEO of Woori Financial Capital.

Woori Financial Group announced on the 9th that its subsidiary CEO candidate recommendation committee recommended Executive Vice President Jung as the CEO of Woori Financial Capital. This follows the appointment of the current CEO of Woori Financial Capital, Cho Byung-kyu, as the next president of Woori Bank. Executive Vice President Jung is expected to begin his term after approval at the shareholders' meeting scheduled for July 3, along with CEO Cho.

Born in 1964, Jung joined Woori Bank in 1991 and has served as the head of the Gwacheon branch, head of the Personal Sales Strategy Department, deputy executive vice president of the Asset Management Group, and deputy executive vice president of the Financial Consumer Protection Group at Woori Bank.

The recommendation committee stated, "Executive Vice President Jung is the optimal candidate to successfully lead Woori Financial Capital's mid- to long-term strategies, including diversification of the business portfolio, based on his diverse experience in credit review, card business, asset management, strategy, and sales."

Additionally, Executive Vice President Jung is recognized for his deep understanding of group business strategies, having previously worked in the holding company's synergy promotion team and management innovation office. Woori Financial explained that this aligns with Chairman Lim Jong-ryong's management philosophy of "holding company for strategy, subsidiaries for sales."
