Gyeonggi Office of Education to Accept Applications for Elementary, Middle, and High School Equivalency Exams Starting on the 26th Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will begin accepting applications for the second round of the elementary, middle, and high school equivalency exams this year starting from the 26th.


The exam locations and separate testing sites for COVID-19 treatment and self-quarantine candidates can be checked on the Office of Education's website on July 28. The equivalency exams will be held on August 10, and the successful candidates will be announced on September 1 through the Office of Education's website.


Applications can be submitted both on-site and online. On-site applications can be made at 25 education support offices within the province from the 26th to the 30th of this month. Individuals with COVID-19 symptoms, those in self-quarantine, or confirmed cases must apply online or through a proxy.


Online applications can be submitted via the NICE Equivalency Exam Service (kged.go.kr) from the 26th to 6 PM on the 29th of this month.


The elementary school exam consists of four mandatory subjects: Korean, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Science, plus two elective subjects chosen from Ethics, Physical Education, Music, Art, Practical Arts, and English. The middle school exam includes five mandatory subjects: Korean, Mathematics, English, Social Studies, and Science, plus one elective subject, totaling six subjects.


The high school exam includes six mandatory subjects: Korean, Mathematics, English, Social Studies, Science, and Korean History, plus one elective subject, totaling seven subjects.
