KDCA Opens Applications for Human Bioresource Quality Control Proficiency Test Starting from the 12th

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency and the National Institute of Health will begin accepting applications for the proficiency testing of human biospecimen quality management from institutions managing human biospecimen resources, such as domestic human biospecimen banks and clinical contract organizations, starting from the 12th.

Proficiency testing refers to distributing evaluation materials to participating institutions and assessing the accuracy of the submitted test results.

The National Central Human Biospecimen Bank has been supporting proficiency testing for human biospecimen quality management annually since 2013.

This proficiency evaluation plans to assess a total of six items, including DNA concentration and purity.

Institutions wishing to participate in the proficiency testing can refer to the application form posted on the National Central Human Biospecimen Bank website and apply to the Biobank Division of the National Institute of Health by the 23rd.

Hyun-Young Park, Director of the Future Medical Research Department at the National Institute of Health (and Director of the National Central Human Biospecimen Bank), stated, “Through proficiency testing, we will support the reliable use of human biospecimen resources from domestic human biospecimen banks.”
