Spider-Man: Across the Universe
Hyundai PBV and Others Scheduled to Appear
Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 9th that its concept cars will appear in "Spider-Man: Across the Universe," which is scheduled to be released domestically on the 21st.
In this movie, the flying version of the concept car Prophecy, which is based on the design of the Ioniq 6, purpose-built mobility (PBV), and future aerial mobility (AAM) will appear. To realize future mobility in 2099, Hyundai's Design Center and Brand Marketing Division closely collaborated with Sony Pictures from the early stages of the project, the company explained.
An exhibition will be held to coincide with the release. From the 9th until the end of August, Hyundai will showcase a Spider-Man themed special exhibition at Hyundai Motorstudio in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. The exhibition space features an Ioniq 6 hanging from Spider-Man's web and an installation shaped like a door leading to the multiverse, the multidimensional universe space in the movie. Visitors who upload verification photos of their visit on social networking services (SNS) will receive Spider-Man goods. Among them, 200 people will be selected by lottery to receive two movie tickets each.
Additionally, Hyundai released a commercial featuring Spider-Man following the song playing from the Ioniq 6. The movie's title track, "Link Up," a new song by famous American producer Metro Boomin, was used in the commercial video.
Since 2020, Hyundai has formed a strategic partnership with Sony Pictures and has been conducting various marketing activities utilizing Sony Pictures' intellectual property rights. In the 2021 release "Spider-Man: No Way Home," the Ioniq 5 and Tucson were showcased. Last year, the Tucson Beast, an off-road concept modified Tucson, appeared in the movie "Uncharted."
A Hyundai official said, "We are pleased to communicate Hyundai's vision for future mobility to customers in connection with the globally beloved Spider-Man series," adding, "We will continue to strive to make customers' daily lives more enjoyable through various entertainment contents in the future."
