Jongno-gu Installs a Total of 50 Wall-Mounted Circulators Next to Public Air Conditioners in the Hallways of Donui-dong and Changsin-dong Goshiwon Villages

Jongno-gu (Mayor Jeong Munheon) installed a total of 50 wall-mounted circulators next to public air conditioners in the hallways of goshiwon buildings in Donui-dong and Changsin-dong from May 30 to June 5, ahead of the peak heat season.

Previously, as part of the 'Special Protection Measures for Goshiwon Residents in Summer' from 2021 to 2022, the district installed 102 air conditioners in the hallways of goshiwon buildings to ensure a safe and comfortable summer for vulnerable residents.

The locations for the circulator installation were also set in the building hallways rather than inside rooms, so that residents living in rooms far from the air conditioners could also benefit from cooling.

Mayor Jeong Munheon stated, “Due to climate change, abnormal heat waves are worsening every summer, and goshiwon residents vulnerable to heat are enduring even tougher summers. We will prioritize protecting vulnerable groups living in poor housing conditions by implementing heatwave countermeasures.”
