‘Gaebongjungang Alley-type Shopping District’ Designated as Guro-gu’s First Alley-type Shopping District

'Gaebongjungang Alley-type Shopping District' has been designated as the first alley-type shopping district in Guro-gu.

Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) announced that on the 1st, it held the 1st Guro-gu Alley-type Shopping District Deliberation Committee meeting at the Creative Hall of the district office and designated Gaebongjungang Alley-type Shopping District as the first alley-type shopping district in Guro-gu.

An alley-type shopping district is an area within 2,000㎡ where more than 30 stores operated by small business owners are densely concentrated, and it is designated after comprehensively considering factors such as commercial scale and development potential.

At the meeting attended by eight committee members, Kim Bu-seung (Vice President of the Guro-gu Small Business Association) was elected as the vice chairman, and the application for designation of Gaebongjungang Alley-type Shopping District was deliberated. The designation was approved unanimously by all attending members.

The Gaebongjungang Alley-type Shopping District in the area of Gaebong-ro 17-gil 7~37 in Guro-gu had been experiencing inconvenience in using Onnuri Gift Certificates and other services because it was not registered as a traditional market or shopping district despite its high population density and heavy foot traffic.

With this designation, a total of 59 stores within the Gaebongjungang Alley-type Shopping District are now included as beneficiaries under the "Special Act on the Promotion of Traditional Markets and Shopping Districts." These stores can now apply to become affiliated merchants for Onnuri Gift Certificates, and once the registration process is completed, they will be able to accept payments using Onnuri Gift Certificates.

On the 5th, a certificate delivery ceremony was held at the Renaissance Hall of the district office, where Mayor Moon Heon-il personally handed the designation certificate to Chairman Song Seong-gi.

A Guro-gu official stated, "With the designation of the first alley-type shopping district and the completion of the nearby youth housing construction, it is expected that the number of visitors to Gaebongjungang Alley-type Shopping District will increase significantly. We will continue to strive to support small business owners and revitalize the local economy through various means."
