The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will hold a non-face-to-face exhibition for purchasing products made by persons with severe disabilities from the 12th of this month to the 14th of next month.
Since 2017, the Office of Education has organized an annual exhibition to promote and sell products made by vocational facilities for persons with disabilities within the province, aiming to support the independence and self-sufficiency of persons with severe disabilities and to raise awareness of their products.
This year's exhibition will be held online, as it was last year. Participants include the Southern and Northern Office buildings of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, affiliated institutions, education support offices, and schools within the province.
In particular, this year, an in-person exhibition, which was suspended due to COVID-19, will be held on the 4th of next month at the Southern New Office building of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education.
Purchases can be made by referring to the promotional booklet to select items such as office supplies, quarantine products, daily necessities, and environmental hygiene products, then applying via email to the person in charge at the Gyeonggi Disabled Products Sales Facility or purchasing through the online shopping mall.
Lee Geun-gyu, Director of Financial Management at the Office of Education, stated, "The exhibition for purchasing products made by persons with severe disabilities will not only support their self-sufficiency but also help revitalize the local economy, which has been stagnant due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. We hope that even after the exhibition period, all members of the Gyeonggi education family will continue to purchase products made by vocational facilities for persons with disabilities."
Since the year before last, the Office of Education has expanded promotions targeting faculty, parents, and the general public to increase purchases.
