Video of a Flying Squirrel Pretending to Be Dead Goes Viral
A flying squirrel pretending to be crushed to death under a broomstick has become a sensation on social networking services (SNS), garnering over 20 million views.
On the 7th (local time), the British Daily Mail introduced a flying squirrel video posted by a Twitter user on the 3rd. The video shows a brown-furred flying squirrel knocking a broomstick to the ground and then crawling underneath it, pretending to be crushed.
At first, the squirrel placed the broomstick on its belly, but seemingly dissatisfied with the position, it pulled the broomstick up to its neck and maintained a spread-eagle posture once the broomstick reached the desired spot.
The video was filmed in Thailand and has attracted significant attention, recording over 22 million views on Twitter alone. The media stated, "The flying squirrel, staging a crime scene by feigning death, is being praised for its Oscar-worthy acting," adding, "This video shows every stage of a thrilling drama." It continued, "The flying squirrel considered the broomstick's position and chose a bold and dramatic arrangement."

Meanwhile, the flying squirrel in question is believed to be a Red Giant Flying Squirrel, which is known to be found throughout Southeast Asia.
