Enterpartners (CEO Park Young-do) announced on the 8th that it will expand its business area into the entertainment sector through the 100% acquisition of Studio The Black (CEO Baek Se-hoon).
Studio The Black, whose 100% shares and management rights were acquired by Enterpartners with an investment of 9 billion KRW, is a specialized company that directly produces and installs sets and art required for drama and film production.
Since 2020, Studio The Black has been providing services under contracts with leading global internet video service (OTT) drama and film producers both domestically and internationally, actively working on numerous programs with domestic drama broadcasters and global OTT platforms such as Disney Plus, Studio Dragon, KBS, and KT.
Benefiting from the expansion of the global OTT market, Studio The Black has reported record-breaking performance every year.
Representative works contracted by Studio The Black include numerous hit dramas such as Casino, Start of the Defense (aired on Disney Plus), Yeonmo, Crazy Love (aired on KBS), Hometown, and Afterlife Rider (aired on TVN). Notably, Casino, starring Choi Min-sik, recorded the highest viewing hours in the first week of release among all Korean original content to date.
Additionally, Studio The Black participated in the art production of five works including The Worst Boy in the World, Han River, Namnam, Dominant Species, and High Cookie, all scheduled to air this year. The company has also signed multiple OTT drama contracts such as Sam-sik's Uncle, Han River, Royal Loader, and Erotic Photo Studio, projecting continued growth in performance.
An Enterpartners representative stated, “Based on the competitiveness secured through the acquisition of Studio The Black, we plan to enter all business areas necessary for drama and film production in the future,” adding, “Through this, Enterpartners will emerge as a new powerhouse and a stable production company in film and drama production.”
They further added, “We also plan to maximize synergy effects through collaboration between the two companies in the drama production field promoted by our affiliate Blade Entertainment.”
Meanwhile, Enterpartners changed its company name from Ilya to Enterpartners to newly enter the entertainment business sector after completing the acquisition of management rights from Gyeongnam Pharmaceutical on March 31.
