The 5th Seongdong-gu Life-Closely-Related Policy Idea Contest Receives a Total of 158 Submissions, 13 Final Proposals Selected After Review
Advancing the Implementation of a Smart Inclusive City Together with Residents Through the Policy Adoption of Selected Excellent Proposals
Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) announced that through three rounds of evaluation in the '5th Seongdong-gu Life-Closely-Related Policy Idea Contest,' 13 resident ideas have been selected and will be reflected in policy.
In March, the district held a contest under the theme "Smart and Life-Closely-Related Policy Ideas for a Smart Inclusive City Seongdong," inviting ideas from residents. Out of a total of 158 submissions, 13 ideas were finally selected after review. These selected ideas will be incorporated into district policies to improve resident convenience.
Among them, the idea of "Installing Road Heating Cables at Bus Stop Boarding and Alighting Points" (photo) received favorable evaluations from the judges. This proposal suggests laying heating cables at points prone to slipping due to heavy snow or ice in winter, preventing falls by enabling rapid snow removal and enhancing safety during boarding and alighting.
Seongdong-gu plans to reflect this proposal by selecting pilot sites for road heating cable installation at bus stop boarding and alighting points and expanding the initiative.
Another idea, "Installing Guide Lights at Seongdong Purumi Recycling Stations," involves attaching indicator lights to recycling stations operating near residential areas from 7 PM, to promote proper recycling and ensure user safety and convenience. Other diverse proposals include "We Are All CPR Heroes," which equips each neighborhood with CPR training devices to enable emergency response.
In particular, the proposal "Support for Disinfection Supply Packages for Vulnerable Groups in Residential Environments During Summer" will be promptly implemented in connection with the Seongdong-style Residential Environment Improvement Project to help vulnerable residents, such as those living in semi-basements, have a safe and comfortable summer.
Jung Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, "We hold the resident idea contest annually to resolve daily inconveniences and turn them into policies," adding, "We will continue to actively reflect the valuable opinions of each resident in district administration and do our best to create a better Seongdong."
