‘Safe Excellent Company’ Export Support ... Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency and KOTRA Sign MOU

Benefits for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) excelling in safety management will be expanded to support their entry into overseas markets.

The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA), under the Ministry of Employment and Labor, signed a "Business Agreement to Support Overseas Market Entry for Safety Excellence Companies" with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) on the 7th at KOTRA headquarters.

Through this agreement, the two organizations will ▲ offer a 20% discount on KOTRA's 'Export 24 Global Agency Service' fees for companies certified under the Safety and Health Management System (KOSHA-MS) ▲ jointly develop export projects utilizing overseas exhibitions, seminars, and consultation meetings for domestic industrial safety technologies and products.

The 'Safety and Health Management System (KOSHA-MS) certification' conducted by KOSHA is a program that certifies excellent companies by auditing workplace-specific safety and health management systems to promote voluntary disaster prevention activities. As of the end of April, there are approximately 1,400 valid certified companies.

In 2021, KOSHA also signed an agreement with the Korea Trade Insurance Corporation to provide financial benefits related to export insurance and guarantees for safety excellence companies, and with this new agreement, support for safety excellence companies has been extended to overseas market entry.

Jong-Joo Ahn, Director of KOSHA, stated, "We will continue to support companies whose top management priority is 'safety' to be competitive in the global market," adding, "We hope that small and medium-sized enterprises become safer and actively enter overseas markets, thereby contributing to the national economy."
