On the 8th, Lim Seongmin, CEO of Pibreno, said in an interview with Asia Economy, “We propose products and services that combine various colors so that people can express their own individuality in daily life,” adding, “If you select a specific color through the Color Finder, you can see all the products that match it at once.”
CEO Lim graduated from Hongik University with a degree in Visual Design and studied luxury marketing in Rome, Italy, before creating his own brand. The brand name was taken from the address of his residence during his study abroad. In 2013, he opened a showroom near Changdeokgung Palace in Seoul, built a direct-to-consumer (D2C) online store through Cafe24, and expanded sales into the online market.
The flagship product is the 'Tutti Bag.' By adding snap buttons on both sides of the bag, the opening can be made narrower or wider, allowing for various styles. CEO Lim explained, “The Tutti Bag, launched in 2022, gained recognition in the global market after being featured on the Chinese social networking service (SNS) Xiaohongshu. Thanks to that, we were able to expand sales to the Hong Kong International Airport duty-free shop, famous department stores, Japan, Singapore, and more.” He added, “Last year, we recorded a 170% sales growth compared to the previous year, and overseas sales account for 20% of total sales.”
Pibreno is increasing brand awareness by communicating with overseas customers through SNS. CEO Lim introduced, “Sales are increasing as more overseas customers are attracted through Instagram Reels, and feedback obtained from live broadcasts is reflected in product manufacturing.”
Pibreno has opened a new showroom and office in Anguk-dong, Seoul, and plans to open additional offline stores. CEO Lim said, “We are promoting the brand in areas frequented by the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) and foreign tourists. We also support live broadcasts by Chinese Wanghong influencers using the studio set up here.” He added, “We are also planning to open 'Cafe Pibreno,' a lifestyle shop concept that handles various everyday products.”
