Gwangju Metropolitan City Buk-gu announced on the 7th that the Usan-dong Administrative Welfare Center will relocate to a new building at 269 Usan-dong, Buk-gu, and begin operations from the 12th.
The Usan-dong Administrative Welfare Center had been using a temporary office near Malbau Market since April 2019, as the previous building was included in the Usan district redevelopment site.
With the new building near Usan Public Parking Lot recently completed, Buk-gu plans to complete the move of the Administrative Welfare Center by the 10th and start operations.
The newly constructed building was developed by Buk-gu as part of the Life SOC Complex Project, with a total floor area of 2,085㎡, spanning from one basement floor to five above-ground floors.
The first floor houses the civil service office, autonomous library, and welfare counseling office; the second floor includes a multipurpose room and residents' autonomy room; the third floor accommodates the Dongdaebonbu office; and the fourth and fifth floors will host the Dahamkke Care Center and Life Culture Center, which are scheduled to move in by July.
A Buk-gu official stated, "The Usan-dong Administrative Welfare Center new building was constructed as a complex facility reflecting the region’s administrative, care, and cultural life needs," adding, "We will do our best to operate it as a resident-centered service and establish it as a complex cultural space."
