Samsung Exynos to Supply Hyundai Vehicles in 2025... First Collaboration on Automotive Infotainment

On the 7th, Samsung Electronics announced that it will supply Hyundai Motor's vehicles with the premium infotainment (IVI) processor, 'Exynos Auto V920.' The two companies plan to collaborate with a goal of supply in 2025.

The 'Exynos Auto V920' is Samsung Electronics' premium processor that offers significantly improved performance compared to the previous generation, providing drivers with real-time driving information as well as entertainment features such as high-definition multimedia playback and high-spec gaming, delivering an optimal mobility experience.

In particular, this product is a deca-core processor equipped with 10 of Arm's latest automotive central processing units (CPUs), improving CPU performance by about 1.7 times compared to the previous generation. It also supports high-performance, low-power LPDDR5, enabling fast and efficient control of up to six high-resolution displays and 12 camera sensors.

Samsung Electronics also incorporated a next-generation graphics processing unit (GPU) based on the latest graphics technology, providing up to twice the graphics processing performance compared to before. By applying the latest computing cores to the 'Exynos Auto V920,' the neural processing unit (NPU) performance has also been enhanced by approximately 2.7 times. Features such as driver monitoring, which recognizes driver voice and detects status, as well as quickly understanding the surroundings, provide users with a safer driving environment.

Additionally, the 'Exynos Auto V920' supports the automotive system safety standard 'ASIL-B,' offering high reliability by preventing possible system malfunctions during vehicle operation.

Jaegeol Pi, Vice President of Samsung Electronics' System LSI Business Division, stated, "We will continue to expand cooperation with various global customers and partners to develop and supply cutting-edge automotive semiconductors that provide drivers with the optimal mobility experience."
