Kibo and Korean Intellectual Property Office Join Hands to Expand Non-Face-to-Face Technology Transactions

Activation of 'e-Electronic Contract System'
Realization of Government Digital Transformation Policy

The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Chairman Kim Jong-ho, hereinafter Kibo) announced on the 7th that it has signed a "Business Agreement for Digital Work Innovation and the Expansion of Non-face-to-face Technology Transaction Performance" with the Korean Intellectual Property Office (Commissioner Lee In-sil) to realize the government's digital transformation policy.

This agreement was established to activate the e-electronic contract system of Kibo's 'Smart Tech Bridge' platform through cooperation between the two organizations, enhancing the convenience of open innovation activities for small and medium-sized venture companies and expanding the non-face-to-face technology transaction environment.

According to the agreement, both organizations will actively cooperate in ▲ maintaining a continuous collaborative relationship for the development and utilization of electronically signed documents ▲ preparing examination guidelines by the Korean Intellectual Property Office for processing electronically signed documents ▲ promoting Kibo's e-electronic contract system. In particular, this agreement is expected to contribute to revitalizing technology transactions by utilizing technology transfer contracts through the e-electronic contract system in patent registration examinations, and to shorten the processing period for patent registration examinations of transferred patents.

Kibo opened the open innovation platform 'Smart Tech Bridge' in 2021, which incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) technology to help small and medium enterprises pursue innovative growth through the introduction of external technologies. The e-electronic contract system built within the platform was developed through practical consultations between Kibo and the Korean Intellectual Property Office from the design stage, allowing subscribers to handle all contract processes from creation to signing, storage, and management without being restricted by time or place.

Director Lee Jae-pil of Kibo said, "Through this agreement, we expect electronic contracts to be activated in the technology transaction market, providing practical help for technology transactions and commercialization of small and medium venture companies." He added, "Going forward, Kibo will continue to promote the advancement of the e-electronic contract system and the expansion of electronic contract utilization, actively striving to improve customer convenience and work efficiency."
