Gwanak-gu and Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association Sign Mutual Cooperation Agreement for Disaster Preparedness

Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) signed a mutual cooperation agreement with the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Song Pilho) on the 5th to promote public-private cooperation for disaster preparedness.

Through this agreement, both parties agreed to cooperate to prevent damage to residents from disasters and to ensure swift recovery and support for victims.

The agreement includes ▲ fundraising and support for disaster victims ▲ volunteer and relief activities for disaster victims ▲ cooperation for continuous care projects for families in disaster crisis ▲ preventive projects such as housing improvements for disaster-vulnerable groups ▲ human and information exchange related to disasters ▲ training of disaster and emergency personnel and campaigns.

Last August, the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association provided support including shelter partitions, floor mats, emergency relief kits, and food supplies to disaster victims in the flood-affected areas, along with approximately 5 billion KRW in relief funds. Since then, they have also supported families in disaster crisis with rural love gift certificates worth about 100 million KRW and heating mats worth about 21 million KRW.

Gwanak-gu and the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association plan to actively cooperate not only in rapid relief for disaster victims when disasters occur but also in continuous care for families in disaster crisis to realize a tightly woven social safety net.

At the signing ceremony, Mayor Park Junhee said, “During the crisis caused by last year’s flood, the swift support from the Disaster Relief Association greatly helped residents return to their daily lives,” and added, “Through mutual cooperation with the National Disaster Relief Association, we will do our best to create a safer Gwanak by responding quickly to disasters.”
