Dongdaemun-gu Expands Care Services at Dolbom SOS Center

Expanding the existing residential convenience services, which only provided cleaning and disinfection, to include repair and maintenance, and laundry support services

Available for seniors and people with disabilities who need urgent or temporary care... Apply at the local community service center in your residential area

Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) is expanding the existing Care SOS Center residential convenience services, which only provided cleaning and disinfection, to include repair and maintenance, and laundry support services to eliminate blind spots in care.

The repair and maintenance service addresses household facility issues that are difficult to resolve alone, such as replacing fluorescent lights and installing insect screens. The laundry support service is a one-stop service that collects, washes, dries, and delivers large laundry items like bedding that are difficult to wash at home.

The Care SOS Center services, including repair and maintenance, are available to anyone who needs urgent or temporary care, including seniors (aged 65 and older), people with disabilities (aged 6 and older), and middle-aged adults (aged 50 and older).

Residents with an income at or below 100% of the median standard income can receive the service free of charge up to an annual limit of 1.6 million KRW per person, while other residents can use the service with a self-payment.

Residents who wish to use the service can apply by visiting or calling the local community service center in their residential area.

A district official stated, “We aim to provide additional repair and maintenance and laundry support services to respond to the increasingly complex and diverse individual welfare needs,” adding, “We will create a Dongdaemun-gu without care blind spots by actively identifying eligible recipients, expanding care services, and strengthening mutual cooperation with service providers to establish and expand an integrated community care system.”
