Seongdong-gu Creates Wellbeing Loess Trail Ideal for Barefoot Walking

Seongdong-gu Creates 45m and 25m Clay Paths at Eungbong Neighborhood Park and Muhakbong Neighborhood Park, with Foot Washing Stations Installed

Open to Everyone, Clay Paths Will Be Regularly Replenished to Maintain Cleanliness

Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) announced that it has created a total of 70 meters of clay paths in two parks to help improve blood circulation and promote mental and physical relaxation.

Listening to residents' requests to walk on clay paths, a 45-meter circular clay path was constructed at Eungbong Neighborhood Park (Daehyeonsan), and a 25-meter clay path was built at Muhakbong Neighborhood Park.

Shoe lockers and foot washing stations were also installed so visitors can wash their feet after walking barefoot.

Barefoot walking provides acupressure effects that help improve blood circulation and stimulate metabolism.

An official from the district stated, “Especially since clay is known as a detoxifier, walking barefoot on the clay paths is expected to help release harmful substances from the body.”

Seongdong-gu plans to maintain the cleanliness of the clay paths by prohibiting pets and regularly replenishing clay lost due to rainwater erosion, ensuring continuous management.

The clay paths are open to everyone, and for further inquiries, please contact the Parks and Greenery Division.

Jung Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, “I hope everyone can visit these parks close to the city without any burden and enjoy healing moments in their daily lives,” adding, “I wish residents a healthy daily life through barefoot walking on the clay paths.”
