Truck and Passenger Car Collision Causes Cardiac Arrest
Transported to Hospital but Ultimately Dies

A tragic accident occurred in which a middle school student helping his mother with delivery work on a discretionary holiday died in a traffic accident.

On the 5th, a collision occurred between a 1-ton truck and an Avante passenger car at Gwangteo Intersection in Wonju-si, Gangwon-do.

According to Wonju Police Station on the 5th, at around 6:40 a.m. that day, a 1-ton truck and an Avante passenger car collided at the Gwangteo Intersection in Sajeri, Heungup-myeon, Wonju-si, Gangwon Province.

As a result of the accident, A (16), who was riding in the passenger seat of the truck, was transported to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest but passed away.

The truck driver, B, in his 30s, and the passenger car driver, C, also in their 30s, sustained various injuries and were taken to the hospital.

It was reported that A, a middle school student, was traveling together to help his mother, B, with her delivery work on the discretionary holiday when the accident occurred.

The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident based on closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and other evidence.
