Along with coastal cleanup activities, participants actively promoted eco-friendly practices such as plogging (jogging while collecting trash) and taking back trash after sea fishing.

Sea Day is a national commemorative day established in 1996 to raise awareness about the ocean and enhance pride in marine-related industries. It is designated on May 31 to honor the month when Jang Bogo established Cheonghaejin during the Unified Silla period.

A county official stated, “The sea is the future of Boseong and a resource that must be passed on cleanly to future generations,” adding, “We ask residents to actively participate in protecting and nurturing the sea themselves.”

Meanwhile, Yulposolbat Beach in Hoecheon, where the event was held, is a representative summer resort in Boseong-gun boasting beautiful scenery with pine forests and silver sands. It is scheduled to open on July 8.
