Yeosu-si, Free Marine Leisure Sports Experience Resumes on the 7th

Until September 3: Windsurfing, Kayaking, Canoeing, etc.

Yeosu City in Jeollanam-do announced that the marine leisure sports experience program, which is provided free of charge to citizens and tourists, will resume on the 7th.

The experience activities include about 10 types such as dinghy sailing, kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing, skin scuba diving, and dragon boating. Participants receive safety, theory, and equipment training from professional instructors before starting practical sessions.

The program will be operated from the 7th to September 3rd at ▲ Ungcheon Waterfront Park’s ‘Marine Leisure School’ and ‘Skin Scuba Class’, ▲ Yeosu World Expo Site’s ‘Marine Leisure School’ and ‘After-School Experience Class’, and from the 14th to September 3rd at ▲ Soho Yacht Marina’s ‘Yeosu Yacht School’.

All lesson fees and equipment rental fees are free, and participants are advised to prepare quick-drying clothes, aqua shoes, hats, sunscreen, and spare clothes.

However, usage fees apply for convenience facilities (showers, lockers), and Yeosu citizens can receive discounts by presenting their ID cards.

Those wishing to participate can make reservations through Yeosu City OK Integrated Reservation, phone, etc., starting one week before the experience date, and on-site registration is also available on the day.

Since the operation period, reservation methods, and age restrictions vary by program, applicants should check the announcements on the Yeosu City website before applying.

Starting this year, priority participation qualifications will be given to ‘out-of-school youth’ only for the ‘After-School Experience Class’.

A city official said, “We hope citizens and tourists show great interest and participation in this program where they can fully enjoy the beautiful marine environment of Yeosu.”
