Police Conduct Additional Investigation on Yoo Ah-in, Suspected of Drug Use, and Accomplices

The police conducting an investigation into actor Yoo Ah-in (37), who is accused of drug use, are carrying out additional investigations on accomplices.

A Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency official stated in a written response at a press briefing on the 5th, "We are conducting necessary investigations, including additional questioning of accomplices, regarding various drug use allegations against Yoo."

Regarding the so-called Shindaebang Fam investigation, which involves allegations of sexual exploitation of minors, the official said, "Four suspects have been booked on charges including the Missing Children Act and statutory rape of minors, and investigations are ongoing," adding, "We are conducting comprehensive investigations including digital forensic analysis of seized items such as mobile phones."

Concerning the allegations in the Sillim-dong area, it was reported that one suspect was arrested and sent to prosecution on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act on the 31st of last month.

The FurEver Coin case, which triggered the Gangnam kidnapping and murder, is currently under compulsory investigation. The police conducted two raids on the 10th and 30th of last month and are currently analyzing the seized items.

Regarding the investigation into the Democratic Labor Union's downtown rally, a total of 29 people, including the chairman of the Construction Union, are being investigated for violating the Assembly and Demonstration Act, with three individuals having been questioned so far.

Regarding the stock manipulation allegations involving First Lady Kim Geon-hee and Deutsche Motors, it was stated, "The case was assigned to the Financial Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Police Agency on the 12th of last month, and the complainant was questioned on the 30th of last month." The police have expressed their intention to conduct a swift and strict investigation in accordance with the law and principles.

Regarding the investigation of Yang Bu-nam, the legal committee chairman of the Democratic Party, it was stated, "On the 30th of last month, arrest warrants were requested for Chairman Yang and one legal office associate who is an accomplice, and on the 2nd, following the prosecution's request for supplementary investigation, we plan to review reapplication of the warrants after supplementation."
