According to this agreement, the two institutions agreed to join forces for technology information and academic exchange to advance the aerospace industry, participation in field visits and industry-academia linked education for nurturing cooperative talent, joint use of research facilities and equipment, human and material exchanges, support for industry-academia cooperative technology development and research on company-required technologies, and operation of industry-academia cooperative seminars and councils.

Yeungnam University is drawing particular attention for this agreement with KAI as it is the only university nationwide with a Department of Air Transportation in the humanities and social sciences that trains specialized aviation personnel. This is because Yeungnam University, which has the educational and research know-how to nurture specialized aviation personnel, has joined hands with KAI, which possesses world-class technology and human and material infrastructure in the aerospace industry sector. It is expected that they will be able to cultivate professionals with global competitiveness in related fields such as aerospace, air logistics, and pilot training education.

KAI President Kang Gu-young said, “The aviation industry is one that requires investment with a 20 to 30-year outlook, and securing talent with specialized knowledge and insight into the future is of utmost importance for its development.” He added, “I hope this agreement will serve as an opportunity not only for KAI to secure talent but also to drive the development momentum of both institutions.”

Yeungnam University President Choi Oechul said, “We have high expectations for cooperating with KAI, which has global competitiveness and infrastructure in the aerospace industry sector. I hope that starting with this agreement, the two institutions will expand cooperation into various fields.” He added, “I hope the two institutions will work together to undertake projects that can be showcased on the global stage and inspire hope for future generations.”
