Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, a subsidiary of HD Hyundai, has rolled up its sleeves to collaborate with government agencies to prevent safety accidents at partner companies and create accident-free workplaces.
According to Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries on the 5th, in cooperation with the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, it will conduct a risk assessment recognition project targeting 43 partner companies (13 in-house partners and 30 external partners) until October.

Risk assessment is a system where workplaces identify hazardous and dangerous factors themselves and establish and implement improvement measures.
Through this recognition project, if a workplace conducts a risk assessment on its own and submits an application for recognition, an agency examiner will objectively review it and issue a certificate of recognition.
Recognized companies will receive various benefits such as reductions in industrial accident insurance premiums (for certain industries) and additional subsidy support.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency recently held an explanatory session on the risk assessment recognition project for business owners and safety officers of Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries’ partner companies.
Until October, they plan to sequentially carry out △ monitoring the progress of risk assessments and collecting feedback △ on-site inspections △ recognition evaluations.
Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries plans to provide work standards and samples to help partner companies smoothly obtain risk assessment recognition, as well as conduct on-site guidance and special training.
A Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries official said, “Through this risk assessment recognition project, we expect to create a safe working environment for partner companies, expand win-win cooperation between companies, and firmly establish cooperative relations with government agencies.”
Meanwhile, in March, Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries participated in the ‘Safety Culture Practice Promotion Group,’ composed of about 30 safety-related organizations including the Mokpo branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor as the head, Jeonnam Provincial Office, and Jeonnam Office of Education, actively engaging in spreading safety culture and reducing major accidents.
