UITP Attendance by Lee Seonghae, Daekwang Committee Chair, for Four Days Starting the 4th
The Metropolitan Transport Commission of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MTMC) announced on the 5th that Chairman Lee Seong-hae of MTMC will attend the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) conference held in Barcelona, Spain, from the 4th to the 7th for four days.

UITP is an organization established to provide improved public transportation services through research, information, and technology exchange related to public transport. Since 2021, MTMC has also been an active member.
On the first day of the conference, the 4th, Chairman Lee attended the UITP Asia-Pacific Government Agency Committee meeting, where he gave a policy presentation and participated in discussions on public transportation policies and sustainable public transport operation methods. At this event, Chairman Lee presented measures to alleviate standing passengers on metropolitan buses, seat reservation services, and tram systems.
On the 5th and 6th, he plans to hold meetings with the Barcelona Metropolitan Transport Authority (ATM), which oversees metropolitan transportation in Spain, and the Madrid Regional Transport Consortium (CRTM) to share key transportation policies such as fares, trams, and underground roads, and to discuss ways to establish continuous cooperative relationships.
Additionally, on the 6th, at a side event of the UITP conference, Chairman Lee will introduce domestic autonomous driving BRT pilot projects and DRT systems under the theme "The Present and Future Directions of Autonomous Public Transportation."
