Located at 943-1 Hancheon-ro, Beon 2-dong, the 'Our Neighborhood Care Center Branch No. 8' is prepared with a total floor area of 153.42㎡. The district established Branch No. 8 as a general-type care center focusing on niche care demand and accessibility. It can accommodate about 20 children.
Elementary students aged 6 to 12 who need care can use the Our Neighborhood Care Center regardless of income. Children using the center can receive support such as temporary care, cultural, artistic, and sports programs, and guidance for school commuting.
The operating hours are from 1 PM to 7 PM during the school term and from 9 AM to 7 PM during vacation periods. The integrated-type centers, Branch No. 3 and No. 6, operate until 8 PM, and Branch No. 1, a pilot center for extended hours, is open until 10 PM.
Additionally, to support children's health and alleviate parents' childcare burdens, the district plans to provide free lunch during vacation periods to children using the general-type centers, which was previously offered as a paid service.
Residents wishing to use after-school care can inquire at the Our Neighborhood Care Center they wish to use. The monthly fee is 50,000 KRW, and the daily fee is 2,500 KRW. Detailed information such as center locations and contact numbers can be found on the Gangbuk-gu or Seoul Our Neighborhood Care Portal websites.
Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, "We opened Branch No. 8 in Beon 2-dong so that all residents can conveniently use the Our Neighborhood Care Center, and Branch No. 7 in Insu-dong is also scheduled to open in the second half of this year." She added, "We will spare no support, including facility improvements, to ensure children can safely use the centers."
