Yangcheon-gu Operates 'Bakery and Web Novel Startup Training Classes' Lee Gijae, Yangcheon District Mayor, is communicating with entrepreneurs at the Yangcheon Startup Support Center last February.

Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gijae) is operating a ‘Bakery & Web Novel Startup Training Class’ at the Yangcheon Startup Support Center (Sinjeong-ro 7-gil 75), which supports one-stop startup preparation, sharing bakery startup know-how and web novel writing techniques, recruiting 20 prospective and early-stage entrepreneurs.

Previously, on the 18th and 24th of last month, the Yangcheon Startup Support Center signed a memorandum of understanding with ‘Patisserie Sona,’ a famous local bakery, and ‘Jakga Company,’ a subsidiary of Naver specializing in web novel and webtoon publishing, agreeing to provide practical startup support programs and cooperate to revitalize the Yangcheon-gu startup ecosystem.

The ‘Bakery Startup Training Class’ will have the master baker and owner chef of ‘Patisserie Sona,’ who operates two bakeries locally, share management know-how with aspiring bakery entrepreneurs.

In particular, since the instructor is a small business owner who has directly started and succeeded in Yangcheon-gu, experience-based practical training will be conducted, including characteristics of the local startup environment and vivid on-site tips.

The curriculum includes ▲ explanation of startup planning order and know-how ▲ introduction to bakery machines and tools ▲ making various breads ▲ POS usage, store layout and machine placement experience ▲ presentation of business plans or personal recipes.

The recruitment target is 8 residents wishing to start a bakery business, and applications can be submitted through the Yangcheon Startup Support Center website by June 8. The tuition fee is 120,000 KRW, and the selected students will participate in a total of 6 weekly sessions starting with a preliminary orientation on the 14th of this month.

The ‘Web Novel Startup Class,’ which has emerged as a rising force in the startup market without separate qualification requirements or investment costs, will run a total 10-week course with 30 hours of weekly training starting in early August.

The target students are 12 residents with writing talent, and a web novel specialist instructor will teach secrets for becoming a published author, including understanding the web novel market, selecting themes and genres, and serialization know-how. Recruitment will be conducted through the Yangcheon Startup Support Center website in July, and the tuition is completely free.

The center operates as a control tower for startup support, providing spatial resources such as open office spaces, meeting rooms, and seminar rooms for prospective and early-stage entrepreneurs, along with various support programs including startup introduction and basic courses, branding, and building startup networks.

Lee Gijae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “We will continue to discover and operate unique startup support programs that can expand the virtuous cycle of the startup ecosystem, doing our best to make Yangcheon-gu a city where challenges are anticipated.”
