"Don't Stain Grandpa's Face"... Jeon Woo-won Reveals Text from Lee Soon-ja

Jeon says, "I hope grandmother also comes to know the truth"
"I have no idea about the scale of the slush fund"

Jeon Woo-won (27), the grandson of former President Jeon Du-hwan, revealed the full text of a text message he received from his grandmother Lee Soon-ja. The message contained a reprimand telling him, "Do not disgrace your grandfather's reputation."

Jeon disclosed this in an exclusive interview with SBS's YouTube channel 'Video Mug' on the 1st.

Jeon said, "Grandmother spoke very passionately, representing grandfather's position," and added, "She said that Korea developed because there was a strong leader like grandfather during a chaotic era."

He then revealed the full text of the message he received from Lee.

In the message, Lee began by saying, "I was shocked by your incomprehensible behavior and lost the will to live. I came to see you many times, but I am sorry I couldn't meet you."

She continued, "Ask your mother who carried you on her back all night to raise you. We sold all the gold and silver we had saved for emergencies to send you to a prestigious university, yet you got involved with drugs and act dazed, and on top of that, you disgrace your grandfather's reputation," expressing her anger toward Jeon.

She added, "Your grandfather said he would take full responsibility for what he did, so you, who weren't even born during the May 18 incident, should not presumptuously interfere and just take care of your own matters."

Jeon said, "In a way, I think grandmother might also be a victim who believes falsehoods as truth," and added, "I hope that before she passes away someday, she will visit all the victims and be able to accept new truths she has not known until now."

Jeon recently revealed that he was cut off by his eldest uncle Jeon Jae-guk, who was dissatisfied with his actions, through a message saying, "You are no longer my nephew or anything else, so do not visit or call. Stop taking drugs and live properly."

Jeon appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' on the 2nd and calmly said, "Cutting ties with my eldest uncle is rather relieving," and "There is no truth in the way my family lives so calmly."

He also continued to expose slush funds of the Jeon family. Jeon said, "After returning to Korea and receiving details through a tax accountant, I found that there were seven companies under my name," and added, "One of them was BL Asset, where I was registered as a shareholder from 2000, when I was four years old, until 2016. I had no idea until I checked this year."

He continued, "The business purposes overlapped a lot, including real estate sales and leasing, and corporate mergers and acquisitions. Also, a large amount of slush funds remained in the form of bearer bonds. They operated funds without transparency to avoid legal oversight. It seems they have been hiding slush funds using family names like mine."

Jeon emphasized, "The scale of the slush funds is unimaginable," and said, "In my case, even though my mother divorced, slush funds were hidden through me, so what about the other grandchildren? Not only the second and third generations but also related people such as in-laws should all be investigated."
