From Medicine Storage to Delivery, Integrated Logistics Service
On the 2nd, a smart pharmaceutical joint logistics center opened in Gimhae, Gyeongnam, the only special zone for bio-health and medical devices in Korea.
According to Gimhae City, about 100 people attended the opening ceremony, including National Assembly member Kim Jeong-ho, Ryu Myeong-yeol, chairman of the Gimhae City Council, Choi Hak-beom, vice chairman of the Gyeongnam Provincial Council, provincial council members, city council members, and officials from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Gyeongsangnam-do.

The city transformed a warehouse located in Gomo-ri, Jinrye-myeon into a smart pharmaceutical joint logistics center by investing 2 billion KRW, secured through national and local funds after being selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's digital logistics demonstration complex project in March last year.
The pharmaceutical joint logistics center provides integrated logistics services to pharmaceutical distribution companies, including pharmaceutical storage, inbound and outbound processing, inventory management, and temperature-controlled delivery.
The entire process of pharmaceutical delivery and storage can be tracked, and each pharmaceutical product can be stored or delivered while maintaining the appropriate temperature.
▲It prevents redundant investment in logistics centers ▲reduces logistics costs through large-scale logistics centers ▲and ensures transparency in pharmaceutical storage and management through integrated pharmaceutical distribution information management.

The city plans to operate the center until mid-September and then hand over operations to a private company through a public contest.
Mayor Hong Tae-yong said, “The demonstration project that started in March last year has finally shown tangible results. I express my gratitude to many who participated in the project and will strive to make the pharmaceutical joint logistics center a standard.”
