The Yeongsangang River Basin Environmental Office will hold the '28th Environment Day Commemoration Ceremony' at its office on the 5th.
'World Environment Day' was established at the 1972 UN Conference on the Human Environment to pledge joint efforts by the international community for environmental conservation, serving as a commemorative day to announce the government's environmental vision both domestically and internationally.
Accordingly, the Yeongsangang Office will conduct side events practicing carbon neutrality along with the commemoration ceremony.
Awards will be presented to individuals who have contributed to environmental conservation in various sectors of society, and a video about Environment Day will be screened.
At the Mulsarang Learning Center located in Hwasun, Jeonnam, from the 5th to the 9th, education on carbon neutrality practices and an event for transplanting withered trees will be organized, mainly for groups that have applied for the experience program.
