Donation of 5,000 Trays of Eggs to Neighbors in Need

Do you know the ‘precious’ love shared through eggs?

On the 1st, Gyeongbuk Province held a ‘Love Egg Donation Ceremony’ together with the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Branch of the Korea Layer Association, delivering 5,000 trays of eggs worth 30 million won to socially vulnerable groups such as social welfare facilities.

The event was attended by Governor Lee Cheol-woo, Son Hoo-jin, President of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Branch of the Korea Layer Association, and Jeong Dong-ui, Secretary General of the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea.

The donated eggs are scheduled to be delivered in early June to social welfare facilities in seven cities and counties (Gyeongju, Gimcheon, Yeongju, Gunwi, Uiseong, Seongju, Chilgok).

Layer farms in Gyeongbuk have been steadily practicing egg sharing for vulnerable groups, such as sponsoring 20,000 boiled eggs to the Uljin wildfire-affected area last year.

Son Hoo-jin, President of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Branch of the Korea Layer Association, said, “Although layer farms are also facing difficulties, we are donating eggs by gathering the will of our members who want to be with neighbors in greater need.”

Governor Lee Cheol-woo of Gyeongbuk said, “I sincerely thank the Layer Association for practicing neighborly love through eggs,” and added, “I hope the spirit of sharing for neighbors in need spreads widely.”
