Chungmuro Alley Shopping District Hosts Printing Culture Street Festival

Printing Culture Street Festival to be Held on the 9th from 2 PM to 9 PM at Chungmuro Alley-type Shopping District

Car-Free Street, Celebrity Performances, Flea Market, Food Market, and Residents' Singing Contest to Take Place

Jung-gu, Home to Over 40 Traditional Markets and 10 Alley-type Shopping Districts, Actively Supports Commercial Area Revitalization



The Printing Culture Street Festival will be held on the 9th from 2 PM to 9 PM at the Chungmuro Alley-type Shopping District in Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Gilsung).


The Chungmuro Merchants Association (Chairman Park Dongchun) is implementing a car-free street and hosting pop-up stores and events to attract customers deeper into the alleys.


From 5:30 PM, various performances such as samba, Nanta janggu drumming, belly dance, and magic shows will enliven the alleys, featuring celebrities Jeon Wonju, Lee Youngbeom, Kim Sangbae, and Doshiwa Aideul to create a vibrant "Friday Night." The event will be hosted by actor Lee Jeongseong. Participants in the singing contest can also win prizes.

Chungmuro Alley Shopping District Hosts Printing Culture Street Festival

The flea market, featuring local coffee workshops and wine bars, will provide the festival’s flavors and aromas. The printing creators’ booths will display and sell various goods, appealing to young customers’ tastes.


Customers who spend over 30,000 KRW on the day will receive a 5,000 KRW Onnuri gift certificate. Dining at shopping district restaurants will include one free bottle of soju per table. The food booth, hosted by Baribat Youth Hof, will sell simple snacks to enjoy while watching performances, with designated eating areas available.


Kim Gilsung, Mayor of Jung-gu, stated, “Over 40 traditional markets and 10 alley commercial areas located in Jung-gu are ready to welcome customers in the post-endemic era. We hope you enjoy the abundant food and sights at the Chungmuro Alley-type Shopping District Festival and experience the unique charm of the old downtown where tradition and modern sensibility coexist.”
