Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, made young radish kimchi with Red Cross volunteers on the 1st at the Mullae-dong public notice area to help vulnerable groups stay cool during the summer.
This 'Kimjang in Summer' volunteer activity was organized by the Yeongdeungpo District Council of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Association, with Koscom donating 5 million won for young radish and seasoning ingredients.
The young radish kimchi and vegetable packages made on the day will be delivered to 400 vulnerable households in the area.
Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, said, "There are relatively few opportunities to share kimchi with neighbors in need during the summer, so I find today's volunteer activity very meaningful," and added, "We will continue to work together with the local community to create a warm Yeongdeungpo where no one is left out."
