Hyundai Motor Sells 349,194 Units in May... 8% Increase YoY

Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 1st that it sold a total of 349,194 units worldwide in May, an increase of 7.8% compared to the same month last year, with 68,680 units sold domestically and 280,514 units overseas. Compared to the same period last year, domestic sales increased by 8.4% and overseas sales by 7.7%.

Domestically, 68,680 units were sold. In sedans, a total of 21,927 units were sold, including 11,581 units of the Grandeur, 1,117 units of the Ioniq 6, 2,630 units of the Sonata, and 6,599 units of the Avante.


In the RV segment, a total of 20,254 units were sold, including 3,553 units of the Palisade, 2,557 units of the Santa Fe, 2,396 units of the Ioniq 5, 4,241 units of the Tucson, 2,522 units of the Kona, and 4,064 units of the Casper.


The Porter recorded sales of 8,061 units, and the Staria sold 3,567 units. Medium and large buses and trucks recorded total sales of 2,443 units.


The premium brand Genesis sold a total of 12,428 units, including 1,417 units of the G90, 4,813 units of the G80, 2,737 units of the GV80, and 2,615 units of the GV70.


In overseas markets, sales reached 280,514 units, an increase of 7.7% compared to the same month last year.


A Hyundai Motor Company official stated, "We will continue to introduce new models with excellent product competitiveness, such as the completely redesigned Santa Fe and the first high-performance electric vehicle Ioniq 5 N, to expand our market share. Following the launch of domestic sales of the All-New Kona EV, we will also lead the electric vehicle market by actively promoting global sales of the Ioniq 6 in the United States, Europe, and other regions." He added, "We will actively respond to the uncertain business environment by resolving high waiting demand through maximum production and sales optimization, and improving the mix centered on high value-added models."
