Taekwang Unveils 'Ellafit' Spandex Summer Fashion Products on Home Shopping

The First Successful Commercial Production of Spandex in Korea

Taekwang Group's textile and petrochemical affiliate, Taekwang Industrial, announced on the 1st that it will launch three summer fashion products made with the spandex brand ‘ELAFIT’. Sales will begin for the first time on the home shopping channel 'Shopping NT' starting today.

ELAFIT features excellent elasticity and resilience, making it suitable for various types of fabrics. Taekwang Industrial was the first in Korea to succeed in commercial production of spandex, incorporating 40 years of spandex manufacturing technology into ELAFIT. It is mainly used in underwear, swimwear, ski wear, hiking wear, and yoga wear that require comfortable fit and superior recovery.

ELAFIT will be introduced through a total of three home shopping broadcasts. First, through the women's underwear collaboration product ‘Rayon Air Hole Bra Panty Package,’ a differentiated product combining excellent cooling functional fabric with stretch and elasticity will be showcased. On the 2nd, the ‘ELAFIT Summer Pants 3-piece Set,’ a women's pants collaboration product featuring stretch and wrinkle-free functionality for outdoor summer activities, will be released. In mid-June, the ‘Mesh Panty Underpants 6-piece Set,’ a collaboration women's underwear product that solves shaping, pants, and underpants all at once for hot summer, will be unveiled.

Taekwang Industrial plans to launch full-scale home shopping marketing by planning additional broadcasts on other home shopping channels following this initial broadcast.

A Taekwang Industrial official said, “We have been planning and preparing for a long time to collaborate with excellent fashion brands and for home shopping marketing,” adding, “We will actively showcase ELAFIT’s outstanding product quality to customers and restore the status of Taekwang Industrial’s spandex, which succeeded in Korea’s first commercialization.”
