Jeju Fire Department Holds Send-off Ceremony for Firefighting Skills Competition Delegation

The Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters (Chief Kim Su-hwan) announced on the 1st that it held a send-off ceremony to encourage the team representing Jeju at the 36th National Firefighting Skills Competition and to strengthen their determination to win.

In this competition, 30 firefighting officers will participate as athletes in nine events including fire, rescue, emergency medical services, and the strongest firefighter, while 11 members of the volunteer firefighting team will compete in five events such as fire hose dragging, showcasing intense competition.


Seo Jun-cheol, the team representative and fire sergeant, stated, “We will demonstrate the skills we have honed to the fullest in top condition and proudly represent Jeju Firefighting nationwide.”


Chief Kim Su-hwan said in his encouragement speech, “I thank everyone who has prepared for the competition with the responsibility of representing Jeju, and you are all already number one in my heart,” adding, “Above all, please pay special attention to finishing the competition without injuries and returning safely.”


Meanwhile, the National Firefighting Skills Competition will be held from the 13th to the 16th at the Central Fire Academy in Gongju, Chungnam, where teams representing 19 city and provincial fire headquarters nationwide will participate in fierce technical contests by category.
