Land Rover has unveiled the new model of the high-performance sports utility vehicle (SUV), the Range Rover Sport SV, Jaguar Land Rover Korea announced on the 1st.
As the top model of the Range Rover Sport, it is equipped with a new 4.4ℓ twin-turbo mild hybrid gasoline engine delivering a maximum output of 635 horsepower and a peak torque of 76.5 kg·m. Compared to the previous generation Range Rover Sport SVR, the power has increased by 60 horsepower and torque by 5.1 kg·m. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 290 km/h. The 23-inch carbon fiber wheels are said to be the first to be used in a mass-produced vehicle worldwide. Optional features such as carbon ceramic brakes and a carbon fiber bonnet help reduce the vehicle's weight. It will be available for pre-order to a limited number of customers.
The new car features a 6D Dynamics suspension system that can lower the ground clearance by 10 to 25 mm depending on the driving mode. The semi-active system reduces body roll in curves without an anti-roll bar, keeping the body close to level. For the first time among Range Rover models, the rear wheels use wide tires with a cross-section 20 mm wider than the front wheels, measuring 305 mm.
The exterior design considers aerodynamics, with carbon fiber used throughout, including the brand name and front bumper blade. The interior has a cockpit structure, and the optional UltraFabric uses seamless, lightweight 3D knit-to-form fabric. It is the first mass-produced vehicle to apply the tactile audio system of SubPac, mainly used by music producers and composers. The Body & Soul seats not only enhance music immersion but also influence heart rate variability, providing a sense of stability.
A plug-in hybrid model combining a 3.0ℓ 6-cylinder Ingenium gasoline engine and an electric motor has been added. The electric driving range is up to 121 km. The time to reach 100 km/h is 5.0 seconds on electric power alone and 4.9 seconds when using both power sources. Detailed specifications and prices for the domestic launch model will be announced later.
