Hollywood Reveal Held in LA... Experts from Disney and Others Attend
"QD-OLED Is Closest to the Colors Hollywood Wants"
Samsung Display's Quantum Dot-Organic Light Emitting Diode (QD-OLED) received high praise from Hollywood in the United States. It was complimented as being the closest to the colors desired by corporate video producers such as Walt Disney, Universal Pictures, Warner Bros., and Netflix.
On the 1st, Samsung Display announced that it held the 'Hollywood Reveal' event from the 31st of last month until this day (local time) at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Los Angeles, USA.
The event, held for the second time following last year, was attended by representatives from 12 global video content companies including Walt Disney, Universal Pictures, Warner Bros., Netflix, and industry image quality experts. A Samsung Display official said, "We organized the event so that film professionals could directly experience the excellence of QD-OLED, which has industry-leading color expression capabilities."

Samsung Display introduced the advantages of the 2023 QD-OLED. They stated that by applying artificial intelligence (AI) technology and organic materials, it expresses images that are clearer and brighter than previous products. They exhibited new products such as the 49-inch ultra-wide monitor QD-OLED and the large 77-inch TV QD-OLED.
A space was also prepared where attendees could compare and experience the colors expressed by the 65-inch QD-OLED and existing displays with a 'mastering' monitor in a dark room designed to simulate a film production environment. The mastering monitor is a reference monitor whose display colors are finely adjusted to be as close as possible to the colors desired by video content producers.
Event participants said, "The 2023 QD-OLED is very impressive in terms of color luminance (brightness of color), color volume, and its HDR content expression is excellent," and "It was amazing how QD-OLED expressed colors closest to those that Hollywood video content producers want to portray."

Samsung Display stated that it will continue to develop products that satisfy both consumers and professionals.
At the event, Samsung Display also introduced new form factor products including the 'Flex Hybrid,' which combines the foldable and slidable technologies first unveiled at CES 2023, and the 'Slidable Flex Solo,' a 13-inch tablet that can be expanded to a 17-inch large screen.
