Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Suhee)’s representative attraction, Iljasan Mountain, is adorned with waves of colorful flowers, creating a spectacular view that continuously attracts tourists.

Iljasan is a representative neighborhood park in Gangdong-gu where people of all ages can enjoy themselves, featuring facilities such as the Herb Astronomical Park, Jongdalse Bird Early Childhood Forest, Gangdong Greenway Camping Site, Healing Forest Trail, and a lawn plaza.

Among these, the Herb Astronomical Park located at the foot of Iljasan Mountain harmonizes over 150 species of herbs and trees rarely seen in the city, and includes a small observatory where visitors can observe the shining stars and constellations in the night sky through a celestial telescope.

Currently, colorful flowers such as lavender, heliotrope, and cornflower are in full bloom, creating a magnificent scene filled with floral scents.

Across from it, the Gangdong Greenway Family Camping Site offers excellent accessibility, allowing visitors to enjoy nature without burden. Reservations can be made through the Gangdong-gu Urban Management Corporation website, and it is highly popular among users who often want to revisit the camping site.

The Jongdalse Bird Early Childhood Forest Experience Center, remodeled last year, features play-type experience facilities such as sky climbing and Jongdalse bird exploration (log crossing), where children can feel curiosity and fun. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays, a professional early childhood forest instructor conducts early childhood forest experience programs for daycare and kindergarten children, while on weekends and holidays, families with young children and individuals can freely use the facilities.

Additionally, Iljasan offers a wide lawn plaza, indoor badminton court, gymnasium, basketball court, and X-game field, providing various leisure activities. It is also ideal for walking hiking trails connected to Seoul Dulle-gil Course 3 and the Healing Forest Trail.

Furthermore, various programs such as ▲forest interpretation programs ▲forest healing programs ▲celestial observation experiences ▲herb product making will be offered, which can be checked and applied for on the Seoul Public Service Reservation website.

The district plans to renovate the entrance path to the Herb Astronomical Park into a barrier-free deck road by November this year to make the park easily accessible and relaxing for everyone, and transform the Iljasan Urban Agriculture Park into a themed space where children can run and play.
