The roadshow is a tourism expo targeting travel agencies, online travel agencies (OTA), and portal operators. While Lotte Hotel and Lotte Duty Free have been conducting roadshows overseas in countries such as China and Thailand since 2012, this is the first time that Lotte Hotel Group HQ has organized an overseas roadshow together with its affiliated subsidiaries.
At the roadshow held on the 30th of last month at The Peninsula Hotel in Tokyo, Japan, Lotte Hotel Group HQ invited about 100 local travel agencies and airlines to promote the brands and tourism infrastructure of Lotte Hotel and Lotte Duty Free. To revitalize the Korean tourism industry, they collaborated with the Korea Tourism Organization and the Korean Cultural Center to promote Korea’s famous tourist attractions and introduced package products that can be linked with them.
At the event, Lee Wan-shin, the CEO of Lotte Hotel Group HQ, attended and took charge of the overall event including the welcoming speech, reception, and meetings. On the 31st, Lee also visited the Lotte Duty Free Osaka Kansai Airport store to inspect the store environment and engage in global on-site management.
CEO Lee said, "This roadshow was prepared to capture the increasing tourism demand following the endemic (periodic outbreak of infectious diseases). We will continue to closely cooperate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and its affiliated organizations to continuously showcase Korea’s attractive cultural and tourism content."
Meanwhile, sales staff from Lotte Hotel and Lotte Duty Free will continue the roadshow by inviting about 100 local travel industry officials in Osaka in the afternoon following the Tokyo roadshow.
