Konkuk Dairy Voluntarily Recalls Milk Following Consumer Reports of 'Strange Taste'

GeonKuk Dairy has decided to voluntarily recall certain products of 'GeonKuk Milk' and 'GeonKuk I-Milk Kkokkiu' following consumer reports of strange tastes and odors.

According to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety on the 1st, GeonKuk Dairy and GeonKuk Ham, affiliated with the school corporation GeonKuk University and located in Daeso-myeon, Eumseong-gun, Chungbuk, are voluntarily recalling GeonKuk Milk 200ml products with expiration dates of June 3-4 and GeonKuk I-Milk Kkokkiu 180ml products with expiration dates of June 3-5.


The Ministry announced this information on the 'Food Safety Korea' website and urged sellers to stop sales and consumers who purchased the products to return them. The Ministry also stated that the Daejeon Regional Food and Drug Administration is currently investigating the cause of the issue with these products.


GeonKuk Dairy also posted a notice on its website, stating, "Some products may have a possibility of off-flavor or odor, and in accordance with the Food Sanitation Act, we have decided to voluntarily recall the affected products." They explained that this is a priority measure to preemptively block potential hazards for the safety and health of customers.


They added, "We sincerely apologize for causing concern to our customers due to this incident," and promised, "We will do our utmost to ensure product quality management going forward."
