SK Geocentric has teamed up with university students to engage in activities aimed at protecting the Earth's environment.
On the 30th, SK Geocentric launched a supporter group called 'GEO’z,' consisting of 20 university students, at the SK Green Campus (Jongno Tower) in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
University students selected as SK Geocentric supporters 'GEO’z' are taking a commemorative photo at the launch ceremony held on the 30th at SK Green Campus (Jongno Tower) in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
The students selected for GEO’z will participate in various activities related to environmental protection and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) for six months until November, receiving mentoring throughout. They will also carry out various projects planned from the perspective of people in their twenties, such as value consumption centered on environmental awareness, and outstanding teams will be given opportunities for overseas volunteer work.
SK Geocentric has set the goal of becoming the 'world’s best recycling materials company' and is communicating with young people in various ways to raise awareness about the importance of plastic recycling.
On the 26th, SK Geocentric also conducted a PET bottle recycling campaign with Korea University’s environmental club ‘IGREEN.’ This campaign encouraged separating plastic water bottles by removing the plastic labels before disposal to promote plastic recycling. The collected water bottles from the day will be picked up by Superbin, a partner of SK Geocentric, and sent to a recycling plant in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province.
An SK Geocentric official stated, "The students selected as supporters will create content monthly and publish it on social media," adding, "Since each student has their own favorite fields such as skin scuba diving and webtoons, we expect them to produce vivid and sincere content that can have a positive influence."
