Ukraine has announced that it will launch a major counteroffensive against Russia starting this spring, and the United States is set to provide an additional $300 million (approximately 400 billion KRW) worth of weapons support.
On the 31st (local time), the U.S. Department of Defense announced that it will supply Ukraine with weapons and military equipment valued at $300 million. This military aid will be provided directly from the Department of Defense's inventory and marks the 39th weapons provision since August 2021.

The Department of Defense stated that the support is aimed at "key capabilities to help Ukraine’s air defense forces bravely protect Ukrainian soldiers, civilians, and critical infrastructure from Russia’s ongoing airstrikes."
The additional weapons and equipment provided by the Department of Defense include ammunition for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), ammunition for the Patriot air defense missile system, AIM-7 air-to-air missiles, Avenger air defense systems, Stinger air defense systems, 155mm and 105mm artillery shells, precision air munitions, AT-4 anti-tank systems, and 30 million rounds of small arms ammunition.
The Department of Defense emphasized, "The United States will continue to cooperate to support Ukraine’s capabilities needed immediately on the battlefield and for long-term security."
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Zelensky announced on the 29th of last month that the timing for launching the counteroffensive against Russian forces has been finalized. Ukraine has been preparing a spring counteroffensive to reclaim territories occupied by Russia, but the timing of the counterattack had been repeatedly postponed due to weapon shortages and other reasons.
