Samjin Fish Cake celebrated its 70th anniversary by conducting a 'Marine Environment Cleanup Campaign' on the 30th at the Jeolyeong Coastal Walkway in Yeongdo, in collaboration with the Namhae Regional Coast Guard.
This campaign was planned to raise awareness about the importance of marine environmental protection on the occasion of the 70th anniversary shared by Samjin Fish Cake and the Coast Guard, both founded in 1953.
About 20 employees from Samjin Fish Cake and the Namhae Regional Coast Guard participated in plogging from the entrance of the Jeolyeong Coastal Walkway to 75 Square.
Additionally, over 70 citizens were given trash bags, and those who filled the bags with litter were rewarded with Samjin Fish Cake sets, encouraging public participation in the campaign.
Employees of Samjin Fish Cake and the Namhae Regional Maritime Police, who participated in the marine environment telephone activity campaign, are taking a group commemorative photo.
Following the reappearance of seals around Dokdo and Ulleungdo in April, the Coast Guard has been continuously conducting campaigns to raise awareness about the severity of marine debris and the importance of protecting marine life from harmful substances such as plastics.
Park Yong-jun, CEO of Samjin Fish Cake, said, “We are very pleased to carry out this social contribution activity with the Coast Guard on the occasion of our 70th anniversary and Marine Day. We will support and actively encourage employee participation in various activities for the marine environment.”
