Gangbuk-gu Opens Recycling Sharing Market ‘2023 Dream Market’... Opening at 11 AM on June 17 at Gangbuk Culture and Arts Center Plaza
Applicants wishing to sell can apply until June 9... Various experience programs such as waste glass crafts and sock yarn crafts will also be operated
Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) announced that to promote resource circulation and reuse culture, it will open the recycling sharing market ‘2023 Dream Market’ at 11 AM on June 17 at the plaza of Gangbuk Culture and Arts Center.
The ‘Dream Market’ is a recycling sharing market where residents sell and exchange used goods they no longer use. To raise awareness of the value of resource circulation and environmental protection, various experience programs and promotional booths will be set up in addition to the market.
Any Gangbuk-gu resident can sell or purchase used goods at the Dream Market.
Residents wishing to sell can apply by June 9 through the QR code on the promotional poster or the link posted in the news section of the Gangbuk-gu website. The district plans to prioritize selecting 10 teams of child and adolescent sellers to provide children with opportunities to experience economic activities.
At one corner of the market, a participation booth will be set up where visitors can learn about proper waste separation methods, resource circulation, and recycling. Various experience programs such as waste glass crafts, sock yarn crafts, making recup kits, and making meal kit frames will be operated here.
In addition, the district plans to operate various promotional booths including an event where bringing in used batteries can be exchanged for new batteries (2 new batteries for every 20 used batteries) or a shopping bag made from used banners (1 bag for every 30 used batteries), eco mileage promotion, blood pressure measurement, and guidance on preventing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, “The Dream Market is a place where children can experience economic activities they have not tried before and learn the meaning of resource circulation and environmental protection. We hope many interested residents will participate.”
The district also plans to hold the second half Dream Market around September.
