'Murder Without a Corpse' Search: Was the Killing of a Peer Female a Planned Crime?

A woman in her 20s who killed a peer she met through an app and mutilated the body was found to have searched for information related to the crime in advance.

On the 31st, the Geumjeong Police Station in Busan revealed that Ms. A had searched the internet for terms such as "murder without a corpse" and "crime investigation specialized program content" before the crime.

It is also known that Ms. A borrowed numerous crime-related novels from libraries in the Busan area.

Currently, Ms. A maintains her previous stance that the crime was impulsive, stating, "I searched because I was very interested."

A police official said, "Since it has been confirmed that there were internet searches related to murder methods before the crime, the investigation will focus on a planned crime," adding, "We cannot disclose detailed information."

Ms. A is suspected of approaching a woman in her 20s, Ms. B, by pretending to be a parent looking for a tutor on a part-time job app around 6 p.m. on the 26th, killing her with a weapon, and mutilating the body.

After mutilating Ms. B's corpse, Ms. A put it in a travel bag and took a taxi around 3 a.m. on the 27th, getting off between Hopo Station and Mulgeum Station in Yangsan, Gyeongnam, then dumping the body and bag in the nearby Nakdong River riverside bushes.

The taxi driver noticed bloodstains on the bag and found it suspicious when Ms. A asked to be dropped off in a sparsely populated area at dawn, so he reported it to the police.

The responding police confirmed parts of the corpse and Ms. B's ID card in the carrier and arrested Ms. A urgently around 6 a.m. that day. The rest of the body was found at Ms. B's home.

The Busan District Court issued an arrest warrant for Ms. A on the 29th, citing concerns about flight risk, and Ms. A is currently being investigated at the police station detention center.
