Donation of Cheongjeongwon Products Worth 65 Million KRW
Used for Sale at Four New Goodwill Store Locations
On the 31st, Daesang announced that it donated Cheongjeongwon products to Goodwill Store, operated by the social welfare corporation Milal Welfare Foundation, to help the economic independence of people with disabilities.
On the 30th, Daesang held a 'New Business Site Sponsorship Goods Delivery Ceremony' at the newly opened Goodwill Store Milal Suwon Bukmun Branch and delivered Cheongjeongwon products worth a total of 65 million KRW.
Goodwill Store, which sells items donated by individuals and companies, is part of Milal Welfare Foundation's project to support the independence of people with disabilities called 'Happy Commute.' It is a vocational rehabilitation facility that prioritizes hiring people with disabilities to help them achieve economic independence. Daesang signed a business agreement with Goodwill Store in June last year for 'creating jobs for people with disabilities and environmental protection,' and regularly donates its products and unused items from employees.
The donated products this time include a total of 19,770 Cheongjeongwon pasta sauces and spaghetti noodles, which will be used for sale at four newly opened Goodwill Store locations this year. New stores often face difficulties securing items to sell, so this donation is expected to help with early promotion and customer acquisition. It is especially meaningful as it goes beyond simple financial support to accompany the creation of 21 jobs for people with disabilities. Additionally, ahead of the store opening, on the 24th, Daesang executives and employees and the Cheongjeongwon Housewives Volunteer Group participated together in shelving volunteer work at the Goodwill Store Milal Suwon Bukmun Branch.
Kim Kyung-sook, Head of Daesang ESG Management Office, said, “We consider this very meaningful as it helps the sustainable economic independence of people with disabilities rather than being a one-time donation,” and added, “We will continue to carry out various ESG management activities that can grow together with the local community with the goal of ‘zero social discrimination.’”
