Credder, a gold-based blockchain financial platform developer, announced on the 30th that it has joined the Governance Council (GC) of the blockchain platform Klaytn.
Credder is a joint venture established in 2022 by ITCEN Group, a leading domestic IT service company with affiliates Korea Gold Exchange and Korea Gold Exchange Digital Asset, and BPMG, a blockchain specialized technology company. It is developing a real-world asset (RWA) digital asset financial platform service.
Credder plans to issue a gold-based RWA digital asset GPC (Gold-pegged Coin) token. Using GPC, it will develop various decentralized finance (DeFi) services. As Klaytn GC’s first RWA DeFi project, it is expected to bring new vitality to the Klaytn ecosystem.
Going forward, Credder will support the issuance of RWA tokens and liquidity enhancement as a member of Klaytn GC. Through this, it plans to expand the use cases of RWA tokens within Klaytn and secure liquidity to contribute to the expansion of the Klaytn ecosystem.
First, Credder will issue a non-fungible token (NFT) linked to the value of physical gold within the first half of this year. The gold NFT, issued in collaboration with CENGold, Korea Gold Exchange Digital Asset’s direct commodity investment service, will enable more reliable and convenient physical gold exchange and trading compared to existing methods by utilizing blockchain technology. Financial services linked to the GPC token will also be introduced later.
Oh Chang-kyun, CEO of Credder, said, "We judged that Klaytn, a global blockchain platform with high performance and stability, is suitable for the growth and innovation of the RWA market. As Klaytn’s first RWA, we will participate in decision-making that aligns with Klaytn’s vision and values."
Seo Sang-min, Chairman of the Klaytn Foundation, said, "Klaytn is actively seeking collaboration with various RWA blockchain projects to strengthen the ecosystem. We expect that BPMG and ITCEN Group will create synergy in the domestic and international RWA token markets and contribute to revitalizing the Klaytn ecosystem."
