Friendly Appearance on Variety Show
Resuming Communication Efforts After Doorstepping Halt
President Yoon Suk-yeol is actively engaging in efforts to strengthen communication with the public.
He has made surprise appearances on weekend entertainment programs, and it is known that he recently considered holding an unplanned press conference on the 10th, which marked his first anniversary in office. Rather than a stiff and authoritative image, he is accelerating his communication efforts through a friendly persona.
On the 28th of last month, President Yoon and First Lady Kim Keon-hee made a surprise appearance on SBS's 'TV Animal Farm' (Dongmulnongjang). Through the broadcast, they revealed their daily life living with their pets at the Yongsan Hannam-dong residence.

They showed ordinary daily scenes such as walking their dogs and taking naps together, without hiding anything that would differentiate them from the general public. In an interview with the production team, they explained the reason for raising pets and also opened up about a past experience of miscarriage.
This is not President Yoon’s first appearance on an entertainment program. During his transition period last April, he appeared on the talk show tvN 'You Quiz on the Block' (You Quiz), hosted by entertainers Yoo Jae-suk and Jo Se-ho. During his presidential campaign, he also appeared on SBS's 'Master in the House' (Jipsabu Ilche), where he revealed his residence in Seocho-dong and showcased his cooking skills, attracting attention.
Before President Yoon, the only president to appear on an entertainment program while in office was the late President Roh Moo-hyun. In July 2003, President Roh appeared on MBC's 'Exclamation Mark' (Neukkimpyo) together with First Lady Kwon Yang-sook. Expanding the scope to include the transition period, former President Lee Myung-bak also appeared on the current affairs and culture program KBS 'Morning Yard' (Achimmadang) in February 2008.
